Overview:
The Cycle Count feature is designed to enhance inventory control and empower proactive stock management. This feature enables you to perform regular inventory counts of items, verify items, identify discrepancies, and take prompt actions to reconcile any inconsistencies. This section will guide you through the step-by-step process of performing a cycle count using the Xemelgo app, allowing you to maintain accurate inventory records and make informed decisions. Let's dive in and maximize your stock control with ease and precision.
Instructions:
On the Xemelgo app’s homepage, tap on the Cycle Count icon, located under the Manage your inventory section of the Inventory user interface.
To start a cycle count, tap Start Cycle Count.
The Xemelgo app will now prompt you to choose between conducting a Full or Partial Cycle Count. Choose the appropriate option for the cycle count you are looking to perform.
Select the desired location for the cycle count to be conducted. If multiple locations are available, choose the appropriate one from the provided options.
Next, the Xemelgo app will automatically establish a connection to the RFID handheld reader you are using.
Note: If the connection between the Xemelgo app and the RFID handheld reader is not established, please consult the Onboarding an RFID Device section of the Xemelgo knowledge base.
Position the handheld reader over items to be scanned.
Press the trigger on the handheld reader to start scanning the tags. As you scan each tag, the Units Remaining will begin to decrease.
The Moved category, as depicted in the accompanying picture, offers visibility into the number of tags that have been transferred from a different location to the current cycle count location (ex: items from the backroom brought out to the sales floor). As you scan tags during the cycle count, any items that were not originally located in the cycle count area will be categorized under the Moved section. This allows you to easily identify and track items that have been relocated for accurate inventory management.
The New category encompasses tags associated with items having a certain item type prefix, denoting either returned items or unprocessed items due to onboarding errors.
If you notice there are items remaining after scanning, you can tap View Details to get a better idea of which items still need to be accounted for.
To view more details about a specific item not being located, simply select the arrow as depicted in the accompanying picture.
To use an RFID handheld reader to locate an item, tap Find.
On this screen, the RFID handheld reader provides proximity feedback to help you locate the item you are searching for.
When the item is nearby, the screen indicator will turn Green, and the RFID handheld reader will emit a rapid audible alert. Conversely, if the item is barely in proximity, the indicator will turn Red, and the RFID handheld reader will emit a subdued audible alert. In cases where the item is out of range, the indicator will display Nothing Detected.
If you find an item that was not picked up by the RFID handheld reader, manually mark the item as found.
Once all items in the location have been scanned, tap Submit.
Carefully review the cycle count Location, Item Counts, and Moved Counts to ensure accuracy.
Once you have finished reviewing, tap Confirm.
After selecting the Confirm option, items that were not scanned will automatically be marked as missing.
After each cycle count, the Xemelgo app automatically generates a report. The report captures any changes in inventory quantities, including increases resulting from the onboarding of new items.
