Overview:
The Onboarding Assets article walks you through the process of adding assets to the system. It includes selecting or creating an Asset Type, entering the Serial Number and RFID Tag Number, using scanning options, and completing the onboarding. Additionally, it mentions the need to consult the knowledge base for onboarding RFID devices and the availability of an instructional video for further guidance. Whether you're new to asset onboarding or seeking a quick reference, this article streamlines the process for you.
Instructions:
To begin the process of onboarding your assets, tap Add under the Onboard your assets section of the Assets user interface.
Next, search for the Asset Type under the Asset Type Information dropdown.
If you are unable to find the asset type you are searching for, tap Create a New Asset Type.
Then enter the Asset Type and Exit Counter (if applicable).
After either entering the Asset Type Information or Creating a new Asset Type, enter the Serial Number and RFID Tag Number under the Asset Information dropdown.
Users have the ability to scan the asset's Serial Number into the Xemelgo system by tapping the Scan Text or icons.
Users can onboard an asset's RFID Tag Number by using an RFID handheld device. Ensure that the tag you want to enter is at least 5 inches away from any other tag in the area.
Once all the required information has been entered, tap Create.
Note: If the RFID handheld device you are attempting to use has not been onboarded to the Xemelgo app before, please consult the Onboarding an RFID Device section of the Xemelgo knowledge base.
